Laughlin shoots age....wins cash

Shooting your age is hard work......Mike Laughlin "rests his eyes" after our November tournament. Mike Laughlin used his home course knowledge to shoot a superb round of 74-65 to claim first place in our November tournament at Nipomo's Monarch Dunes.

Jim Brock (96-67) was second and Pam Rambaud (98-70) was third.

Closest to the flagstick money went to Larry Nava and Laughlin.

Most of the 14 player field enjoyed a group dinner at Rosa's Italian Restaurant on Saturday evening. Attendees enjoyed a great meal and plenty of wine!

Thanks to Don Hutton for hosting our November event. The weather was perfect and the course was a challenge.

Brock brings home USCGFR gold

Jim Brock with USCGFR President Patrick Eakes and Tournament Chair Tom Shaver.MBGFR member Jim Brock claimed first place in the Heritage Flight at the recently concluded United States Canada Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians National Championships held in Blacksburg, Virginia.

The 29th Annual Championships, held September 23-27, were scheduled over three days at Blacksburg Country Club and the Pete Dye River Course at Virginia Tech. Rain washed out his year's final round so the tournament was shortened to two days.

In addition to challenging golf, dinners and other fellowship events were held and several tours were available to non-golfers.

Other MBGFR representatives at this year's tournament included Jim Pescatore and Mike Laughlin.

Pacific Grove Rotary will host the 30th annual USCGFR National Championships October 6-10, 2019. Planned tournament courses include Old Del Monte and Quail Lodge. Jim Pescatore and a number of other MBGFR members will be actively involved in planning this event so mark your calendars now! We want great attendance from MBGFR members!
