Dick Trotter, just days away from his 86th birthday, edged
Steve Horvath for the overall two day low net title at our August tournament at Half Moon Bay.
Trotter shot back to back net 73s (146) while
Horvath posted rounds of 74 and 75 (149).
While he lost out on the net money, Horvath did pick low gross honors both days with and 83 and an 84.
Participants began play on Saturday on the links-style Ocean Course. Renee Jorgensen breezed to a net 66 to easily take first place. Trotter (73) was second and Kenn Freel (74) was third.
On Sunday on the Old Course, Steve Kabot's net 73 took first place money in a card off over Trotter (73). Third place went to Horvath (75).
Saturday closest to the pin winners were Freel and Horvath and Gary Paden and Trotter took home the Sunday money.
Tournament participants enjoyed a great group dinner on Saturday evening at Sam's Chowder House. Thanks to Jim Pescatore for arranging the dinner and thanks to Tom McKinney for hosting this event.
