halls hit jackpot in reno-tahoe

Bob and Rob HallThe father and son team of Bob and Rob Hall ran the table at our Reno-Tahoe Two Day event on July 23 and 24.

On Saturday at the Hills Course at Redhawk Golf Club in Sparks, they combined for a net 64 to take first place money. Second place went to Craig Williams and Tom McKinney (67) who won a card-off over Renee Jorgensen and Jim Brock.

Closest to the pin on Saturday went to Jerry Schock.

On Sunday at Lake Tahoe's beautiful Edgewood Golf Club, the Hall team (67) again edged Williams and McKinney (68) for the first place cash.

Eighty-eight year old Bob Hall picked up the closest to the pin honors on the famous lake-front 17th hole.

The Halls' first place finishes insured their overall two day win (a 13 under 131) and Williams and McKinney were second with a 135 total. Third place overall were tournament host Jim Pescatore and Sid Williams (138).

Receiving "at a boys" for furthest distance traveled were Craig Williams (Seattle, WA) and Bob Varian (Cody, WY).

The 12-person field enjoyed a beautiful but warm day at Redhawk but the beauty of Lake Tahoe was somewhat diminished by smoke from the Oak Fire in Mariposa on Sunday.

Harris & Hall Win Monterey Spring Event

Rob Hall and Ed HarrisEd Harris and Rob Hall were paired up and took home the cash at our Monterey Two Day event on April 9 and 10.

Competitors began the weekend with cold and windy conditions at Poppy Hills Golf Club and Jim Pescatore and Jerry Shock prevailed for a first place finish. MBGFR President Tom McKinney and partner Bob Hall were second.

The weather improved and players enjoyed sunshine on Sunday at Old Del Monte. Bob Wyrick and Geary Engles took home first place cash and Ed Harris and Rob Hall were second.

Special thanks to Geary and Denise Engles for hosting a wonderful cocktail party at their recently remodeled Pebble Beach home. Also pitching in to make the evening a success was Janice McKinney.
