welcome Peggy HESSE

Peggy grew up in upstate New York but, by age 21 during her senior year of college, she moved to Colorado to teach skiing. After getting married and having three children, she went back to college (by then living in Illinois) and finished her degree majoring in accounting. The family was transferred to Florida where Peggy became a CPA. The next move was to California in 1988 where she joined a firm, became a partner in 1999, and still works today! As a charter member of The Rotary Club of Nipomo, Peggy has served as treasurer (of course!) for many years and was President in 2000-2001. Now divorced, she enjoys spending time with her kids and five grandchildren, friends and playing as much golf as work will allow! The golf game?? Maybe not so good but definitely a passionate player, in love with the game!

new member steve mccartha

My name is Steve McCartha. I grew up in Hanford and Lemoore until I joined the United States Airforce in 1999. Had an amazing 10 year career and separated in 2009 due to my son being born and wanting to spend more time at home. After the Airforce, I went back to school and earned by undergrad from Fresno Pacific in business.  Followed up the undergraduate with my Masters in business from Fresno State (MBA). I started my first business, True Legacy Consulting in 2012. The consulting firm focused on helping companies with people, product and process. Taking what I learned from consulting and a partnership with an HR genius, we ventured out and bought Pacific Employers, a 56-year-old HR consulting firm. Despite my education and business, the thing I'm most proud of is my 20 year marriage to my high school sweetheart, Lynn. I have two amazing boys, Elliott (11) and Daniel (9). With left over time, I love to play golf. We are members at Visalia Country Club. Our family goes out most Sundays to play. My favorite part of the game is the short game. Currently I'm a 3.5 and flex between 2-5 handicap based on how much I get to play. I enjoy my Rotary family and look forward to playing with everyone.

Ed Harris

Ed hails from St. Louis, Missouri, past home of Anheuser-Busch, Ralston Purina and Boeing. They all left and, after 50 years, he did also! Ed spent 32 years with the Rotary Club of St. Louis, Club #11. He served on the Endowment Fund committee and was the Community Service Chair when he moved west to Nipomo, CA in 2016. Ed spent his working career as a Certified Financial Planner with Edward Jones. He is currently the Community Service Chair for the Rotary Club of Nipomo. Ed says he was introduced to the MBGFR through "sweet swinging" Mike Laughlin. Ed's wife, Kathy, got to know Lynn Laughlin through the local knitting and stitching group. Ed played in both of our Central Coast tournaments this year and says he looks forward to the fellowship and dinners which "hopefully can sooth my ego after hacking it around on the golf course." Welcome, Ed!

Kevin Spencer

Kevin SpencerKevin lived in Rocklin for 25 years, moved to Tucson for six years and then moved to Clovis four and one half years ago to be closer to his kids and grandchildren.  From Kevin: My son and his family have two daughters and a son, and live in Clovis.  Two years ago my daughter, husband and their three daughters moved from Walnut Creek to Scottsdale for her husband's job promotion.  So much for moving back to California to be near them and the six grandchildren.  Looking forward to retirement in just under three years.  I currently enjoy corporate sales for UPS Freight.  I worked at FedEx Freight while in Sacramento.  So when that final day of work arrives I can truly say "I'm Fed-Up!" I look forward to meeting the club members and playing courses I don't normally have a chance to play.  Thanks goes to my club sponsor Jerry Schock who introduced me to the club.  Jerry and I met at the Ridge Creek Golf Club in Dinuba.
